Sat, 15 September 2007 Hey its Saturday Morning once again! This week Jeff and Aaron's DVD Extravaganza continues with part 2 of a special series of podcasts on the Golden Age of Saturday Morning Cartoons. On this episode of our show, we take a look back at a Hanna-Barbera classic that originally aired in Prime Time from 1960-1966 on the ABC television Network. Of course I'm talking about the Flintstones. When the Flinstones left the Prime Time Airways NBC purchase the rights to the show and began airing reruns of the original Flintstones Cartoons during Saturday Morning from 1966-1969. After that, the Flintstones made an appearance in various forms throughout the Golden Age of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Some of these Saturday Morning Cartoons included " The Pebbles and Bamm Show (71-72), The Flintstone Comedy Hour (72-73), Fred & Barney meet the Thing (79), Fred & Barney meet the Shmoo (earily 80's), and The Flintstone Kids (86-88). Also during our podcast we talk about a link to a web page were you can get some great information on the Flintstones and many of the other wonderful animated shows that were created by the team of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or memories of watching Saturday Morning Cartoons please email us at DVD360@mac.com. As always, thanks for listening.
